Team Prepared for Season-Opening Endurance Classic
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 22, 2026) – The Bartone Bros. Racing with GetSpeed team will start the 64th Rolex 24 At Daytona from the seventh position in the GTD Pro class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.
Mercedes-AMG factory driver Maximilian "Maxi" Götz set the team’s qualifying time during the 15-minute GTD Pro session Thursday, posting a lap of 1 minute, 45.6 seconds in the No. 69 Mercedes-AMG GT3. The result places the team solidly in the middle of the highly competitive class grid for Saturday’s 1:40 p.m. ET race start.
“It is always a privilege to qualify the car,” Götz said. “My expectations weren’t too high because we didn’t know what to think going into the session. We made some changes after the first practice this morning and got the car’s balance closer to where we were during the Roar test last week. I am happy with the result. Of course, we might have found another two-tenths of a second, but I am satisfied. We also learned more about running on new tires with temperatures and pressures, which will help us for the race. We are in the middle of the GTD Pro pack with some big names around us, so let’s see what happens.”
The full driver lineup of Anthony Bartone, Götz, Fabian Schiller and Jules Gounon will return to the track for a final night practice session at 6:15 p.m. ET Thursday as they complete preparations for the twice-around-the-clock challenge.
The team thanks its sponsors: Red Line Oil, Roger Dean Chevrolet, Talon Air, and Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed.
