Daytona Beach, Fla., (January 26, 2024) – Bartone Bros. Racing with GetSpeed Performance put in a near perfect race at the IMSA WeatherTech Championship Rolex 24 At Daytona run to finish fifth in the GTD Pro Class at the Daytona International Speedway today.

Drivers Anthony Bartone (USA), Fabian Schiller (Germany), Luca Stolz (Germany), and Maxime Martin (Belgium) put in 723 laps (1,807 miles) over the 24 hours behind the wheel of the No. 69 Mercedes-AMG GT3, most of that time running in the top five in the ultra-competitive GTD Pro Class. At the end there just wasn’t enough speed compared to the top runners to fight for a podium finish.

Anthony Bartone

“The overall experience with the torque sensors kind of had us behind the eight ball all week, but I think we finished strong. In the daytime we didn’t have that extra gear that everyone else at the front seemed to have. My stints were very satisfying. Coming back to the USA and driving with some of the guys I have competed against before was cool. Managing the car and the traffic with the GTP cars was a learning experience. The goal was to improve every stint keep the car competitive and clean and I was able to do that this weekend. Fifth place and first time here for the GetSpeed team is a huge accomplishment in itself. I want to thank my dad Tony, Park Miller, and my aunt Diane for making this all possible.”

Fabian Schiller

“When we came here, we knew it would be a hard couple of weeks as it is our debut with the new torque sensors. Since the Roar and the practice days we made some good steps forward with the GetSpeed and Mercedes-AMG engineers. Going into the race we knew we were on the backfoot. Going into the night we had great pace and the usual great handling from the Mercedes-AMG GT3. We thought we might have a shot at it. When the sun came out and warmed things up it was a little tougher for us. We didn't have enough to fight for the podium as the Fords, Corvettes, and BMW cars in front of us seemed to have a little more than we did with the current rules and regulations. Fifth place seemed to be what we had today."

Tony Bartone

“They knew we were here. Anthony, Fabian, Luca, and Maxime did a great job behind the wheel over the past two weeks. Adam (Osieka) and the GetSpeed team put a great car under them. In the end we just didn’t have enough power to keep up. I want to thank my longtime friend Park Miller and my sister Diane for their support with this program.”

Bartone and Schiller will continue on to rounds three and four of the Asian Le Mans Series to run at the Dubai Autodrome, Feb. 8-9.

Bartone Bros. Racing NHRA Top Alcohol Funny Car team will kick-off their #Strivefor5in25 season at the Gator Nationals in Gainesville, Fla., March 6-9.

The team would like to especially thank Park Miller and Roger Dean Chevrolet for their support, along with sponsors Red Line Synthetic Oil, Talon Air, LLC, and Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed, and RealTime Racing.
