Bartone, Schiller and Götz log maximum laps in preparation for Rolex 24
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (Jan. 18, 2026) – The Bartone Bros. Racing with GetSpeed team completed a productive three-day test at the Roar Before the 24 at Daytona International Speedway in preparation for the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season-opening Rolex 24 At Daytona on Jan. 24-25.
Drivers Anthony Bartone, Fabian Schiller and Maximilian "Maxi" Götz combined to turn 128 laps (455 miles) on the 3.56-mile Daytona road course, successfully executing the team's technical program and building driver confidence in the No. 69 Mercedes-AMG GT3.
“It was nice to be back in the car after a month off from our winning weekend at Sepang in the Asian Le Mans Series,” Bartone said. “This is my biggest race of the year, so it was great to start with three strong days of practice. We are building off last year’s fifth-place finish to make the next step in performance. We completed our entire technical plan, and everyone feels good about the effort this week. Thanks to my dad, Tony, the GetSpeed team and the RealTime crew for their work.”
The team completed all items on its test checklist and confirmed the car's setup on Daytona's high-banked oval sections.
“We collected a lot of data,” Schiller said. “It is tough to gauge our performance relative to the competition at a test, but we progressed through our program and made good steps with the car. The team did excellent work, and the driver feedback was strong. Let’s see how we do next week.”
“I think we made good progress over the last three days,” Götz said. “We’ve changed the setup quite a bit, which was the target, and we are still learning about the tires. In the end, it was productive, and we have a good car. As a team, we will review the data and finalize our setup for the race. This is my sixth Rolex 24, so I have many laps here for comparison. It is a great way to kick off the season.”
The driver lineup will be bolstered for the race by Jules Gounon, who will join the team following his seventh-place finish at the Creventic 24 Hour of Dubai this weekend.
The team returns to the track Thursday for the first official practice sessions ahead of the 64th running of the Rolex 24 At Daytona.
The team thanks its sponsors: Red Line Oil, Roger Dean Chevrolet, Talon Air, and Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed.
