Six wins in a row – undefeated in 2026

NORWALK, Ohio (June 21, 2026) – Bartone Bros. Racing won the Top Alcohol Funny Car class at the NHRA North Central Division 3 regional event Sunday at Summit Motorsports Park.

The victory extended the team’s 2026 win streak to six in a row, keeping them undefeated for the season. The win followed previous victories at Maryland International Raceway, Route 66 Raceway, zMAX Dragway, the Gatornationals, and the Baby Gators regional event.

Driver Sean Bellemeur, tuner Steve Boggs and Tony Bartone’s crew  posted consistent runs throughout the weekend, with qualifying times in the 5.40-second range. In the final round, Bellemeur lined up the “Pirate Ship” against Doug Gordon and delivered a run of 5.617 seconds at 264 mph with a .035-second reaction time. Gordon ran 5.613, but Bellemeur took the win by three-thousandths of a second — keeping the “Killer B’s” perfect season intact.

“Good old alcohol funny car racing,” Bellemeur said. “The first thing I said to Doug when I got out of the car was, ‘you are the best Top Alcohol Funny Car driver I have ever seen,’ and I hold that to be true. In fact, before I ever drove, my dad said, ‘if you ever want to be good at this, watch Doug Gordon.’ It is not how he goes down the racetrack — anyone can do that — it is what he does when things go wrong. He pedals as well as anyone out there and leaves the starting line as well as anyone. I’ve always strived to be as good as him.”

“I went out and it shook; the front end was up in the air,” Bellemeur continued. “Doug is a multi-time champ, so you have to go for the throat. Steve and the Killer B’s did. We shook, I pedaled, and it hooked. I never saw him. I could hear him and got it by three-thousandths at the stripe. The two best Top Alcohol Funny Cars in the world, the last eight championships between us. I hate that I’m not racing Maddi anymore, but I am glad Doug is back.”

“This win keeps our undefeated streak going, and it’s always fun when the Killer B’s and the Gordons go down the track.”

Bellemeur also credited his crew for overcoming adversity during the weekend.

“A big thanks to the team for their hard work this weekend,” he said. “We had an issue before the third round of qualifying that would have kept any other team in the stands watching. The crew of Steve Boggs, Nick Stoms, Justin Taylor, Garrett Bateman, Brian Gawlik, Lauren McMaster and Matt Krebs dug deep and got us back on track. That kind of effort gives me that extra confidence behind the wheel of Tony’s hot rod.”

Bartone Bros. Racing returns to action next weekend at the same venue for the 20th Annual Summit Racing Equipment Summer Nationals, scheduled for June 26-28 at Summit Motorsports Park.

The team extended a heartfelt thank you to its sponsors: Red Line Synthetic Oil, Roger Dean Chevrolet, Talon Air LLC, NGK Spark Plugs and McLeod Racing, along with product supporters Simpson Performance Products and Taylor Motorsports Products.
