Hankook 24H Dubai drive
Long Island, Ny., (October 17, 2023) – Anthony Bartone (Miami, Fla.) will be a full-time driver in the Asian Le Mans Series starting in with the December race at Sepang International Circuit.
Bartone was awarded the SRO Motorsports GT America Rookie of the Year at the series banquet two weeks ago in Indy. The young Miami-based driver is coming off the SRO America season where he scored a win in the SRO GT America race at Sonoma Raceway and posted top finishes in the SRO Fanatec World Challenge races throughout the year. He will be running in the Bartone Bros Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3 prepared by Nürburgring-based Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed.
“I will be testing with GetSpeed at Valencia in November to keep driver-fit for the Asian Le Mans opener,” Bartone said. “There is no off season.
“The Asian Le Mans Series will be a great way to keep my driving skills and race craft progressing. I will be on the track for the first-time with Prototypes. It will require me to focus not only forward but looking in my mirrors for faster cars coming up on me. With our schedule it will be a great opportunity to keep learning on some new tracks with some faster cars around me.
“The Hankook 24H races are always competitive at the front in the GT3 Class. I like our driver line-up for the Dubai race. Luca Stolz, Fabian Schiller, and Martin Konrad have a lot of experience and are fast guys. I look forward to learning from them and contributing on the track.”
Bartone will be teamed with young Brit Aaron Walker and with a bronze driver to be announced later in the Asian Le Mans entry. Bartone and Walker already have history as they teamed up in the International GT Open race at the Red Bull Ring in September posting a fourth-place finish.
The team would like to thank sponsors Red Line Oil, Roger Dean Chevrolet, Talon Air, and Mercedes-AMG Team GetSpeed.
